The Tigers score 96 points in victory over Hinds

The CCC men's basketball team defeated Hinds on Thursday night. The matchup featured the Tigers' first home conference game of the 2022-23 season.

Coahoma claimed a double-digit lead early in the matchup, and held a 32-12 lead with 8:54 to play in the first half. CCC led 47-27 at halftime. The Maroon and White tallied 49 points in the second half en route to a 96-79 win.

Kei Johnson led Coahoma in scoring with 25 points to go along with 10 rebounds. CCC's O'zhell Jackson also tallied a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while also registering seven assists. Coahoma guard Dontae Prescott recorded 18 points and seven assists.

Korea McKay II had a productive night with nine points and 10 rebounds for the Tigers. Jaqai Murray contributed nine points and eight rebounds for the Triple C.

Jo Perez, Ben Galmore, Raeshun McGregory, Gregg Magee, Kavan Wooten, and Amarion Hoggan also scored for Coahoma.

The Tigers are now 9-3 (2-0 MACCC) this season; HCC is 7-7 (0-3 MACCC).

CCC's next matchup will be at Itawamba on Tuesday, Jan. 17. That game will start at 5:30 p.m.
