Box Score The CCC men's basketball team picked up a win in its first conference game of the 2022-23 season.
In the first half, CCC was 17-of-33 from the floor and 6-of-18 from 3-point range. Defensively, the Maroon and White held ECCC to 32% FG% in the opening half. At the halftime, the Tigers led 47-36.
In the second half, Coahoma tallied 39 points en route to an 86-81 conference win on the road.
Amarion Hoggan led CCC in scoring with 21 points to go along with six rebounds and four assists. He was 7-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-8 on 3-pointers.
Kei Johnson and O'zhell Jackson each tallied a double-double for Coahoma. Johnson recorded 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Jackson registered 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Jaqai Murray had a productive night with 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals.
Ben Galmore, a guard from Clarksdale, MS., tallied nine points throughout 21 minutes of play.
Jo Perez, Kavan Wooten, Dontae Prescott, and Raeshun McGregory also scored for CCC.
The Tigers are now 8-3 (1-0 MACCC) this season; ECCC is 9-5 (0-2 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game will be against Hinds on Thursday, Jan. 12. That matchup is slated for 6:00 p.m. at the Pinnacle.
