The CCC baseball team played at Northeast Mississippi Community College in a two-game series April 26.
In the opening matchup, Coahoma trailed 2-0 after three innings. CCC scored one run in the top of the fourth inning when Zales Lewis scored off a sacrifice fly from Anyelo Sanchez.
NEMCC responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning, which made the score 6-1 in favor of Northeast going into the fifth inning.
Coahoma went on to trim NEMCC's lead to 6-3 in the middle of the sixth inning, but Northeast won the opening matchup 12-4.
In the second game of the day, CCC had two runners in scoring position with one out in the top of the first inning. A double play on the ensuing at bat ended the side. NEMCC went on to tally three runs in the first inning and two in the second. The final score was 10-0 as Northeast won in five innings.
The CCC Tigers are now 7-27 (2-22 MACCC) this season; NEMCC is 26-15 (17-9 MACCC).
