The CCC softball team played at No. 9 Itawamba Community College in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 20.
In the opening matchup, Coahoma's Kelcee Townsend scored off an RBI single by Ashanti Stephens in the top of the first inning. Later in the side; CCC had the bases loaded with two outs. Jaliyah Davis was walked, which gave the Lady Tigers a 2-0 lead.
On the ensuing at bat; Ashanti Stephens scored off an RBI single by Davida Blockett. Coahoma led 3-0 going into the bottom of the first inning.
The Lady Tigers tallied two runs in the fifth inning, but ICC won the game 14-5 in five innings. Itawamba went on to sweep the series as they won the second matchup 17-0 in five innings.
Coahoma is now 4-32 (0-22 MACCC) this season; the ICC Lady Indians are 31-7 (15-7 MACCC).
