The CCC softball team began the 2022 regular season with a two-game series on Friday, Feb. 25, at Southern Arkansas University Tech.
In the first game, Coahoma's Ziay Graves recorded a double in the top of the second inning. A groundout and two strikeouts ended the side with the score tied 0-0. SAU Tech tallied four runs in the bottom of the inning, and went on to win the matchup 13-0 in five innings.
The score of the second matchup was 1-0 SAU Tech going into the bottom of the second inning. Southern Arkansas tallied eight runs in the side, and went on to win the game 13-1 in five innings. CCC's only run of the game occurred in the fifth inning when C'Asia Grayer scored off an RBI ground out by Kyla Henderson.
Coahoma will host Southwest Tennessee Community College in a doubleheader on Tuesday, March 1, at the Eddie C. Smith Sportsplex. The series will begin at 1:00 p.m.
