The CCC men's basketball team faces Northeast Mississippi Community College on Monday, Feb. 14, at the Pinnacle. The matchup features Sophomore Night for the Coahoma Tigers. Sophomores
Quan Brown and
Mook Harris will be recognized before the game.
Brown is averaging 21.7 PPG, 9.8 RPG, and 2.7 APG this season, while shooting 55.6% from the floor and 36.8% from 3-PT range. The Atlanta, Georgia, native
received MACCC Player of the Week honors earlier this season for recording 62 points and 27 rebounds throughout two games in late January.
Harris is CCC's third-leading scorer this season with an average of 10.4 PPG. The sophomore guard from Los Angeles, California, tallied a team-high tying six made 3-pointers in a game earlier this season against Southwest Mississippi.
Coahoma's most recent win occurred at Mississippi Delta 83-70 on Thursday, Feb. 10. Brown,
Jo Perez,
Ben Galmore, and
Kei Johnson combined to score 66 points off 57.1% FG shooting in that matchup. The Tigers fell short 62-49 at Hinds on Saturday, Feb, 12.
As for Monday's opponent, Northeast Mississippi has won 10 of its past 12 games. NEMCC won 92-86 at MS. Delta on Saturday, Feb. 12. Northeast ranks first in the MACCC in free-throws made per game (16.1), free-throws attempted per game (23.9), offensive rebounds per game (18.0), and assists per game (19.6) this season.
