Coahoma defeats No. 16 Northeast Mississippi 95-85 in overtime

The CCC men's basketball team recorded an impressive win on Monday night against No. 16 Northeast Mississippi. Coahoma led 37-29 at halftime. Despite trailing by 10 points in the second half; CCC rallied to force overtime. In OT, Coahoma scored 19 points en route to a 95-85 win.

CCC's Dontae Prescott, Jaqai Murray, and Kei Johnson combined to score 15 points in overtime, while O'zhell Jackson and Amarion Hoggan also scored in OT for Coahoma.
 

Murray tallied 28 points, which led Coahoma in scoring. He also registered eight rebounds and three assists. Jackson recorded 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, four blocks, and one steal. Kei Johnson contributed 20 points to go along with an impressive 15 rebounds. Johnson also tallied two blocks.

Dontae Prescott scored 14 points for the Maroon and White, while recording four assists. Prescott was a perfect 6-of-6 at the free throw line in overtime.

Jo Perez, Amarion Hoggan, and Ben Galmore also scored for CCC as the trio combined to register 11 points.

The Coahoma Tigers are 7-2 (0-0 MACCC) this season, while No. 16 NEMCC is now 7-3 (0-0 MACCC).

CCC will play at Meridian on Thursday, Dec. 8. That matchup is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
