                    Box Score The CCC men's basketball team opened the 2022-23 regular season against Miami Dade College on Friday night.
The game took place in the Griffin Elite Classic, which is being held at Griffin Elite Sports and Wellness in Erlanger, Kentucky. Coahoma defeated MDC 97-90 in triple overtime.
CCC's Kei Johnson tallied a team-leading 27 points. Johnson was one of five Tigers who scored in double figures as O'Zhell Jackson recorded 14, Ben Galmore scored 12, Dontae Prescott registered 11, and Jaqai Murray accounted for 10. Johnson and Jackson were the only Tigers to record a double-double as Jackson had 17 rebounds, while Johnson had 14.
Jo Perez and Amarion Hoggan combined to score 14 points for Coahoma. Gregg Magee and Kavan Wooten also contributed points for CCC.
The Tigers are now 1-0 (0-0 MACCC) this season. Coahoma faces Chattanooga State Community College on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. (EST) at Griffin Elite Sports and Wellness.
