The CCC men's basketball team hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College today, Jan. 17, at 6:00 p.m. Tonight's meeting marks the first matchup of the season between Coahoma and MGCCC. The Tigers are 4-8 (0-3 MACCC) this season; Gulf Coast is 10-4 (2-3 MACCC).

Coahoma's most recent home game was against Itawamba on Jan. 10, 2022. In that matchup against ICC, the Tigers' Quan Brown recorded 20 points, 11 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. CCC's Kei Johnson tallied six blocks, which set the team-high for blocks by an individual in one game this season.

The Tigers had multiple opportunities to tie the score with less than 29 seconds to play in the second half, but Itawamba ultimately picked up a 59-54 victory at the Pinnacle.

As for MGCCC, the Bulldogs began the season by winning eight of their first nine games. Gulf Coast enters tonight's matchup with a two-game losing streak that features a 102-91 loss at Northeast Mississippi and a 66-65 loss against Pearl River. The Bulldogs are averaging 87.4 PPG this season, which ranks second in the MACCC.
