The Tigers fall short against Itawamba

Box Score The CCC men's basketball team hosted Itawamba Community College on Monday night.

A 14-2 run in the first half gave ICC a 20-7 lead with 10:34 remaining before halftime. The score at the end of the opening half was 32-23 in favor of Itawamba.

Gregg Magee, Quan Brown, Mook Harris, Raeshun McGregory, Damon Haynes, and Kei Johnson each made a field goal for Coahoma in the first half.

CCC made a valiant effort, but was unable to take the lead away from the Indians in the second half. Coahoma had possession of the basketball, while trailing 57-54 with 29 seconds remaining in the game. The Tigers took three shots from 3-point range, but were unable to convert. ICC re-gained the possession, and went on to win the game 59-54.

Coahoma was led in scoring by Quan Brown; who recorded 20 points off 10 made field goals.

The Tigers are now 4-7 (0-2 MACCC) this season; Itawamba is 8-3 (2-2 MACCC). Coahoma's next game is scheduled to be at Meridian Community College on Thursday, Jan. 13, at 6:00 p.m.
