Box Score The CCC women's basketball team opened its season with a 65-50 victory against East Mississippi at the Pinnacle. On Monday night, Coahoma faced Mississippi Delta in the Lady Tigers' first away game of the regular season. The game went into overtime, but CCC picked up the victory 67-59.
Sophomore guard
Nakia Cheatham led Coahoma in scoring with 18 points off 6-of-11 shooting from the floor. Cheatham also recorded 14 rebounds, four assists, five steals, and a block.
Point guard
Ashanti Backus went 4-of-7 from 3-point range, and finished the game with 15 points.
Freshman forward
Elishia Wilson scored 17 points off 7-of-13 FG shooting in 36 minutes of play. Wilson recorded a team-high five of CCC's 20 offensive rebounds.
The Lady Tigers have now won five of their past six games against MDCC; including the last three matchups by an average of 12 points.
Coahoma is 2-0 this season; MS. Delta is 1-2.
CCC's next game is on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Holmes Community College. That game is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., and will be
streamed by HCC.
