The Coahoma Community College women's basketball team starts its regular season this evening at the Pinnacle. CCC enters the 2021-22 campaign off an impressive 15-3 (12-2 North) record last season.
Coahoma returns one starter from last year's team, but head coach
Stephanie Murphy has been pleased with the new players and is excited about the upcoming season.
"I'm excited about our team," Murphy said. "I think they're buying into our philosophy. They're practicing extremely hard. … I'm really looking forward to the season."
The Lady Tigers face a talented East Mississippi team in CCC's season opener.
"They're always good," Murphy said on Oct 25. "Coach Thompson always has them extremely prepared. ... We're anticipating it being a tough matchup."
The EMCC Lady Lions began their season on Monday night with an 80-51 home victory against Holmes.
The matchup is slated for Thursday, Nov. 4, at 5:30 p.m.
