Box Score GOODMAN- The Coahoma Lady Tigers and the Holmes Lady Bulldogs was in a collision course in the MACJC North Standings with a chance of making the 2020 MACJC Conference Tournament. The Lady Tigers had control of most of the game, but The Lady Bulldogs came alive in a 4th quarter rally for a 69-63 victory on Monday Night at Frank Branch Coliseum.
Coahoma had their most significant lead 33-28, with 6:58 remaining in the 3rd quarter.
Mary Wilkins knocked down a three-pointer.
Ayani Cockrell chipped in with a driving layup.
The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Bulldogs 17-15 to take a 45-40 lead ending the 3rd quarter.
Holmes exploded with a huge 4th quarter. During the quarter, Gabrielle Bunch knocked down a three-pointer and scored a driving layup. Brysa Maxwell also scored a driving layup. The Lady Bulldogs took a 52-49 lead and never looked back.
The Lady Bulldogs had their biggest lead at 66-56 with 1:51 remaining in the game.
Coahoma made things interesting with a 7-1 run. Wilkins scored a driving layup cutting the lead to 67-63 with 33.1 seconds remaining.
Holmes made some critical stops and outscored Coahoma 29-18 in the 4th quarter, preserving the victory.
Holmes (9-11, 5-4 MACJC North) had two players that scored in double figures.
Bunch led the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points and four rebounds, Maxwell finished with 16 points, eight rebounds, and two assists, and Jordyn Manning scored nine points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Jalaceia Smith scored nine points, five rebounds, and two assists.
Coahoma had two players that scored in double figures.
Cockrell led the Lady Tigers with 15 points and six rebounds. Wilkins finished with 12 points and three assists.
Brailyn Tate scored eight points and eight rebounds.
Iitasha Paty scored seven points and eight rebounds.
Coahoma goes to 9-11, 3-7 MACJC North on the season.
The Lady Tigers will start a two-game homestand against Itawamba Community College in an MACJC North matchup. The game is scheduled on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, at the Pinnacle, and tipoff will start at 5:30 p.m. The game will broadcast live at www.coahomasports.com/watch as well as on the College's radio station WCQC 91.3 FM.
