CLARKSDALE- Coahoma Community College had a tough start to the 2017-18 season. The Lady Tigers had to play back to back road games. They had good starts but not great finishes in losing both games in double figures.
Lady Tigers had an early lead against East Central Community College. Big runs by the Lady Warriors in the second and third quarter made a difference in a 79-69 Coahoma loss. The Lady Tigers had to bounce back against #9 Jones County Junior College. The game was close early until a 13-2 run by the Lady Bobcats lead a long day for Coahoma in a 106-57 loss.

Danetra Forrest knows the Lady Tigers have a lot of work to do. "We just couldn't get over the hump on those runs," said Forrest. "We're going to be really good when we get our shot selection and defense together."
Nikkeria Harris, Geneva Walker and Walneika Holmes are looking to lead Coahoma to bigger and better things. Harris is averaging 13 points and 2 blocks a game. Holmes averages 14 points and 3 steals a game. Walker is averaging 8 points, 3 assists and 3 steals a game.
The Lady Tigers is 0-2 on the season. They continue a tough road trip against Southwest Mississippi Community College this Monday Nov. 6, 2017 in Summit, MS at 6 p.m. This is the third game of a five game road trip to start the season.
"Any night can come out either way because this is a tough conference," said Forrest. "The girls are hungry for a victory. If we do what we suppose to then we'll be okay."
This game will be part of a double header that's Followed by Coahoma vs Southwest Mississippi men's game at 8 p.m.
