SHREVEPORT, Louisiana - The CCC Lady Tigers dropped a close matchup vs. Southern University - Shreveport 79-72 Saturday at the Southern Classic. Nikerria Harris finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds. The team returns to action Monday at East Central.

A tight contest throughout, the Lady Jags of SUSLA took a 36-34 advantage to the halftime break. Southern was led by Jada Taylor, who netted a total of 25 points and dished 9 assists. Caitlin Jenkins finished with 19 points and 18 rebounds.

A strong 2nd half by the Lady Tigers helped tie the game at 72 before a 7-0 run to finish the game sealed the 5th victory of the year for the Lady Jags. CCC's top performers included Harris, whose 19/9 line was one of her finest all-around efforts of the season so far, as well as Kayla Rogers, who racked up 17 points following a 40-point performance Friday vs. Southwestern Christian College. Dana Brown netted 13 points, and Melvinisha Jenkins added 12 points and 7 boards.

The Lady Tigers return to action Monday at 5:30 in Decatur vs. the Lady Warriors of East Central. ECCC defeated the Lady Tigers in the season opener Nov. 3 80-75. A live stream will be available at coahomasports.com/watch.
