FULTON - The Football Tigers fell to the Itawamba Indians in Fulton Saturday by a final of 49-7. The win was the 3rd of the year for Itawamba, and their first since September 10th.

The Indians got out to an early lead by putting together 3 methodical drives in the first quarter that led to touchdowns. Running back Kadarius Forside took it across the goal line from close on two of the drives. Itawamba would finish with 188 net yards rushing.

The Tigers got their only touchdown late in the 2nd. After an interception deep in Itawamba territory halted a Tiger scoring push, the CCC defense was forced to step up. And that they did, with Denzel Scruggs forcing an Itawamba fumble. With the ball at the ICC 5 after the recovery, the Tiger offense got another shot. Jacardius Griffin punched it in for the score to cut the lead to 14. It was the first touchdown run of the year for Griffin. 

Unfortunately, Itawamba would strike for 7 more before the break and then score on a 65-yard run by Octavis Matthews on their first play of the 2nd half to put the game out of reach. Matthews led all rushers in the contest with 114 yards.

CCC QB Dominic Marino finished the game 14 of 28 for 152 yards passing. Steven Barnes and Greg Johnson led the team in receiving with 58 yards and 46 yards respectively. Denzel Scruggs led the Tiger defense with 1.5 sacks, and Quartez Roby registered a sack and a tackle for a loss. Kemon Hall topped the team in total tackles with 9.

The Tigers fall to 0-6 on the season with the loss. They meet Southwest MS CC on Saturday in Summit. Kickoff is schedule for 5 pm. A live stream will be available on coahomasports.com.
