Garrett Short is the assistant baseball coach at Coahoma. Short played baseball at Coahoma during the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He then went on to spend several years as a coach in the Velo Baseball Club, which is a program for young players. The former CCC baseball player is excited to return to Coahoma as an assistant coach, and feels as though the program is trending in a positive direction.
"I'm getting to come back and be a part of a program that's grown tremendously," Short said. "Coach [Lee] Hodge has done a really good job growing this program. I feel like (during the) past couple years, we've been one step away from being able to get over that hump of making the playoffs."
CCC Athletic Director Reggy Hankerson expects Short to "be a role model for our young student-athletes." Hankerson also finds Short's familiarity with the program to be "very valuable."
