Coahoma Volleyball announces inaugural signing class

Welcome the Inaugural CCC Volleyball Players of 2026

CLARKSDALE, Miss. - Coahoma Community College head volleyball coach Nadia Crawford recently announced the program's historic inaugural signing class, laying the foundation for the Tigers' first season of intercollegiate competition.

Built on a commitment to athletic excellence and academic achievement, the incoming class features talented student-athletes from across the region who will establish the culture and identity of Coahoma volleyball from day one.

"Building a program from the ground up is a unique opportunity, and this first signing class is incredibly special," Crawford said. "While I was recruiting, these young women made it known they believed in our vision before we ever played a match."

Throughout the recruiting process, Crawford emphasized finding individuals who fit the program's core values as much as their athletic ability.

"I look for student-athletes that are hardworking, respectful, competitive, and have a positive attitude," Crawford added. "I want student-athletes to embrace our motto, 'Built to Earn Everything,' and understand that success is earned through commitment and accountability. My goal is to develop players who are prepared to compete at the four-year level while earning a college degree and growing as leaders on and off the court."

As the first players to wear the Coahoma volleyball uniform, the inaugural class carries the responsibility of setting the standard for future generations of Tigers. Incoming freshman Kaitlyn Price recognized the significance of the moment.

"I decided to sign to Coahoma Community College because it felt like the best place for me to continue my journey both in the classroom and on the court," Price said. "Playing Division II volleyball has been something I wanted to do, and this opportunity means a lot to me. I'm very excited for this next chapter, ready to grow, and work hard for everything that's ahead!"

Freshman Miyah Nickey agreed, highlighting the welcoming environment and strong leadership.

"I chose to sign with this school because of the amazing coach and the strong sense of community among the team," Nickey said. "I felt like it was the perfect fit for me both academically and athletically. What really stood out to me was the program's commitment to developing players not just on the court, but off the court as well. I am really excited to be a part of such a dedicated group and cannot wait to play with these amazing people!"
The addition of volleyball represents another step forward in the continued growth of Coahoma Community College Athletics. As preseason preparations begin, the Tigers will focus on establishing team chemistry, developing a competitive identity, and laying the groundwork for sustained excellence.
