Senatobia, MS – In a hard-fought MACCC conference basketball game, the Coahoma Community College Tigers took on the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers, but unfortunately, came up short with a final score of 66-59 favoring the Rangers.
JaQai Murray continued to impress, picking up six early points and giving the Tigers a 10-7 lead. The first half saw solid contributions from Murray,
Dontae Prescott, and
Korea McKay II, maintaining a lead that reached 29-20 after Arthur Tate's three-pointer.
Despite a strong first half, the Rangers bounced back in the second, taking a 37-34 lead with 16 minutes left. The game remained tight, with both teams exchanging baskets. Ricarvis Waters' three-pointer briefly put the Tigers back in the lead at 39-37, but the Rangers regained control, securing a 66-59 victory.
Looking ahead, the Tigers return home on February 20th to face the Southwest CC Bears at 7:30 PM. In a special gesture to honor first responders, admission will be free with valid ID, and a halftime ceremony will recognize their dedicated service. We invite the community to come out and support the Tigers as they aim for a comeback on their home court.
