The CCC women's basketball team advanced to 6-2 in home games this season with a 25-point victory over East Mississippi on Monday night.
Tiara Abron,
Jamyia Bowen,
Janiya Jones,
Jamea Smith, and
Elishia Wilson each scored for CCC in the first quarter. Coahoma led 14-13 going into the second quarter.
Wilson tallied eight points in the second quarter, which led all scorers. The Lady Tigers led 30-24 at halftime.
The Maroon and White tallied an impressive 23 points in the third quarter, while also playing well defensively as they held the Lady Lions to eight points.
Jones scored 11 points in the quarter, which included three 3-pointers. Coahoma led 53-32 after three quarters of play.
Tiara Abron, Jones, and Wilson combined to score 16 points in the fourth quarter as CCC went on to win the game 73-48.
Jones led all scorers with 21 points, while Wilson was second with 18.
Tiara Abron and Smith each tallied nine points, while
Mackenzie Carter recorded eight.
Tiana Abron and Bowen each scored four points.
The Lady Tigers are now 10-6 (6-3 MACCC) this season; EMCC is 5-11 (3-6 MACCC).
Coahoma plays at Holmes in the Lady Tigers' next game, which is slated for Thursday, Jan. 9, at 6:00 p.m.
