Box Score The CCC women's basketball team played at Holmes on Thursday, Feb. 9. Coahoma entered that matchup off a 73-48 win over East Mississippi on Monday, Feb. 6.

Against Holmes on Thursday, Coahoma's Janiya Jones scored 12 points in the first half, while Tiara Abron recorded seven points. Jones and Tiara Abron each made two 3-pointers in the opening half. Despite this, Holmes led 48-29 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Jones and Elishia Wilson each scored seven points for CCC. Tiara Abron, Tiana Abron, and Mackenzie Carter also contributed points for Coahoma in the third quarter.

The Lady Tigers outscored HCC 19-11 in the third quarter. Going into the fourth quarter, Coahoma trailed 59-48. Holmes scored 18 points in the final quarter as the Lady Bulldogs won the game 77-59.

Jones led CCC in scoring with 22 points. Tiara Abron and Elishia Wilson also scored in double figures for Coahoma as they each recorded 10 points. Tiana Abron, Jamyia Bowen, and Mackenzie Carter also scored for Coahoma.

The Lady Tigers are now 10-7 (6-4 MACCC) this season; Holmes is 13-8 (5-5 MACCC).

Coahoma's next game is slated for Monday, Jan. 13, against Jones College at the Pinnacle. That matchup is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
