The CCC softball team played at No. 11 Northwest Mississippi on Wednesday, April 6.
Coahoma fell short in the opening matchup 13-0 in five innings. In the second game, the Lady Tigers trailed 11-0 after three innings of play.
In the top of the fourth inning, CCC had the bases loaded with one out. Following two walks and a strike out; Jaliyah Davis and Bailey Edwards scored for the Lady Tigers off a two-RBI single by Michelle Davenport.
Coahoma's Kahlena Hentz recorded a two-RBI double on the ensuing at bat, which allowed Davenport and Kelcee Townsend to score. After two-straight walks; Coahoma scored one run off a passed ball. Following a walk; a strikeout ended the top of the inning.
The Lady Tigers tallied seven runs in the top of the fourth inning, and trailed 11-7 going into the bottom of the inning.
Northwest scored six runs throughout the remainder of the game en route to a 17-7 win in six innings.
The CCC Lady Tigers are now 3-23 (0-14 MACCC) this season; NWCC is 21-7 (11-5 MACCC). Coahoma's next doubleheader is scheduled to be at Meridian on Saturday, April 9.
