The CCC women's basketball team picked up an impressive victory over Jones College on Monday night.
Coahoma trailed 26-12 after the opening quarter, but the Lady Tigers responded by outscoring JC 21-6 in the second quarter. Coahoma led 33-32 at halftime. CCC tallied 20 points in the fourth quarter, while allowing nine points en route to a 67-58 victory.
The Lady Tigers'
Nakia Cheatham had a tremendous game that featured 19 points, 18 rebounds, and three steals. Cheatham was 7-of-14 on FG attempts, while going 4-of-9 from 3-point range.
Forward
Elishia Wilson recorded 19 points, nine rebounds, and three steals for CCC.
Tiara Abron tallied 11 points for the Lady Tigers, while
Ashanti Backus,
Brayland Ferguson,
Jeanee Anderson,
Tiana Abron, and
Mercedes Hayes each scored for CCC.
Coahoma was 8-of-21 from 3-point range, and outrebounded Jones 52-34. The Lady Tigers recorded 18 offensive rebounds, and tallied 16 second-chance points.
The Lady Tigers are now 13-5 (7-3 MACCC) this season, while JC is 14-5 (9-2 MACCC).
CCC's next game is scheduled to be against Mississippi Delta on Thursday, Feb. 10, at the Pinnacle.
