The CCC women's basketball team will face Mississippi Delta tonight at 6:00 p.m. inside of the Pinnacle.
Coahoma's most recent game was at Jones College on Monday, Feb. 7. The Lady Tigers trailed by 14 points after the opening quarter, but led 33-32 at halftime. CCC went on to win the game 67-58.
Sophomore guard
Nakia Cheatham recorded an impressive 19-point, 18-rebound double-double in that matchup for the Lady Tigers. Forward
Elishia Wilson tallied 19 points and nine rebounds for Coahoma.
Tonight's game will be the second meeting of the season between CCC and Mississippi Delta. The first matchup was won by Coahoma 67-59 in overtime. Wilson, Cheatham, and
Ashanti Backus each scored at least 15 points in that game. Cheatham had 18 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, five steals, and one block.
MDCC's most recent victory occurred at Holmes 63-60 on Jan. 24. The Lady Trojans enter tonight's game having lost their past four games. Mississippi Delta is led in scoring by guard Shakira Wilson, who is averaging 12.1 PPG to go along with 2.0 SPG.
The Lady Tigers are 13-5 (7-3 MACCC) this season; MDCC is 5-13 (1-9 MACCC).
