The Lady Tigers defeat Meridian

Box Score On Thursday night, the CCC women's basketball team defeated Meridian Community College 49-42 inside of the Pinnacle.

Coahoma held an 8-6 lead after the opening quarter of play. The Lady Tigers' Elishia Wilson scored six points in the second quarter, while Nakia Cheatham, Tiara Abron, and Tiana Abron also scored for CCC. At halftime, the Lady Tigers led 21-15.

In the third quarter, Brayland Ferguson led CCC in scoring with four points. The Lady Tigers scored 10 points in the quarter, but MCC's 16-point performance made the score 31-31 with one quarter remaining.

CCC outscored Meridian 18-11 in the fourth quarter. Of Coahoma's 18 points in the quarter; 11 of them were scored by Wilson. The final score was 49-42 in favor of Coahoma. CCC was led in scoring by Wilson's 21 points.

The Lady Tigers are now 9-3 (3-1 MACCC) this season; MCC is 5-7 (2-3 MACCC).

Coahoma's next game is on Monday, Jan. 17, at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. That matchup is scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m.
