Box Score On Thursday night, the CCC Lady Tigers defeated Holmes Community College 81-60 in Coahoma's second away game of the regular season. With the victory, CCC is now 3-0 this season; Holmes is 0-4.
The Lady Tigers had six players score in the first quarter, which included six points by freshman forward
Elishia Wilson. The score was tied 18-18 after the opening quarter of play.
Nakia Cheatham made two 3-pointers and scored eight points for Coahoma in the second quarter. Cheatham, a 5-foot-11 guard from Clarksdale, MS., finished the game with 19 points. At halftime, CCC held a 32-30 lead.
In the third quarter, Cheatham and Wilson each scored seven points. The Lady Tigers'
Tiana Abron,
Ashanti Backus,
Brayland Ferguson, and
Mercedes Hayes also scored for Coahoma. Going into the final quarter, the score was 55-47 in favor of coach
Stephanie Murphy's team.
CCC outscored HCC 26-13 in the fourth quarter as eight players scored for Coahoma. The Lady Tigers won the game 81-60.
Backus, Ferguson, Cheatham, Wilson,
Tiara Abron, and
Tiana Abron each scored at least eight points for Coahoma.
The Lady Tigers' next game is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 15, against Northeast Mississippi Community College at the Pinnacle. That matchup is slated for 5:30 p.m., and will broadcast live at
