CLARKSDALE- Coahoma Community College Basketball were looking to put on an impressive showing against the Royal Ambassadors in front of their home crowd. The Mighty Tigers worked out some kinks from last week's season opener. Various team members made big plays all night long in a 122-65 home-opening victory.
The Tigers broke out a great start and continued performing relentlessly on the court.
Jordan O'Neal and
Cameron Bell combined for Coahoma's first 15 points of the game. Then,
Tiras Bolden and
Troy Johnson unpacked some high-flying dunks. The Tigers made seven 3-pointers in the first half to take a commanding 60-23 lead at the half.
Two Royal Ambassador players dominated with double figures. Marquell Harris led the Lions with 22 points. Marquis Williams struck up 14 points.
Coahoma had five players to accumulate double figures.
Jordan O'Neal kept the win in reach for the Tigers with 18 points.
Cameron Bell and
Cortez McCarty each mounted 17 points.
Troy Johnson stayed focused to collect 16 points and four rebounds.
Tyler Berryhill scored 10 points and five assists.
The Mighty Tigers goes to (2-1) on the season. The Tigers will be back in action against Arkansas Baptist College on Saturday, November 16, 2019. The tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. at the Pinnacle.
