CLARKSDALE — CCC Basketball will celebrate Sophomore Night in The Pinnacle Thursday at 6/8 pm vs. Mississippi Delta. The games will be the final of the season for the Lady Tigers and Tigers.
CCC Basketball traveled to Goodman Monday night, dropping both contests at Holmes. The Lady Tigers got a career-high 23 points from Diamond Love and 12 points and 12 rebounds from Kayla Rogers but fell in a close contest to the Lady Bulldogs 71-65. CCC trailed by 3 at half, matching Holmes virtually blow for blow despite playing with just 6 available players after Tranika Echols suffered a leg injury late in the 1st half.
Frank Anthony dropped 20 points, but the Tigers could not overcome a 52-29 halftime deficit in the men's game. Holmes, the 2nd seed in the MACJC North, took the contest 94-67. Malik Bailey and Cortavious Miller each scored a dozen points, and Malcolm Batteast chipped in 11 in the loss. The 20 points were a season-high vs. a conference opponent for Anthony.
The CCC Basketball program will honor sophomores Melvinisha Jenkins, Diamond Love, Tranika Echols, Tomaja Shaw, Carnita Hammond, Quatavis Henderson, Frank Anthony, Milovan Topalovic, Shannon Bailey and Cortavious Miller with a ceremony duringthe doubleheader vs. Delta Thursday.
