CLARKSDALE — The CCC Basketball Tigers could not hold on to a halftime lead, falling to Northwest Thursday in The Pinnacle 72-63. Malik Bailey scored 16 points in the loss.
CCC got off to a great start, building a 32-25 lead at half behind strong offensive play from Cortavious Miller, who would finish the game with 13 points. NWCC launched a 2nd half comeback though that helped them improve to 14-7 overall and 7-4 in divisional play. The Rangers outscored the Tigers 47-31 in the game's 2nd 20 minutes.
Northwest was led by Clarksdale native Keelin Jackson, who scored 14 points. For Malik Bailey, the game was the 4th in the last 5 in which he has scored at least 16 points. Tarquise Harris added 13 for the Tigers.
CCC (3-19, 1-9 MACJC North) returns to action Monday at Holmes and concludes the season with Sophomore Night on February 23rd at home vs. Mississippi Delta. Monday's start time in Goodman is slated for 6 pm. The game will be a rematch of the teams' January 26th contest, which Holmes won 88-76.
