CLARKSDALE - The Coahoma Community College Tigers dropped their homecoming matchup vs. Southern University - Shreveport 78-62 Saturday in The Pinnacle. LeDarius Woods notched 18 points and Cortavious Miller added 11 of his own in the loss.
SUSLA opened a 42-26 halftime lead by closing out the 1st half's final 12:30 with a 34-16 run. The visitors put the contest out of reach in the 2nd half, earning their 12th overall win this season and 2nd against the Tigers behind double-digit scoring from 4 different players, including Lyntravious Gipson, who finished with 12. The Port City Jags shot 47% from the field.Â
The 18 points for Woods marked the 10th time this season that the guard/forward has scored in double figures for Coahoma. Miller paired his 11 points with 5 rebounds. Justin Edmond and Milovan Topalovic each added 5 boards of their own. Tarquise Harris accumulated 9 points, and Malik Bailey finished with 8.
