Miller's Double-Double Not Enough As Tigers Fall In Wesson

Miller, Harris combine for 33 in loss

WESSON - The CCC Tigers dropped their first game since returning from winter break at Co-Lin 77-66 Monday. Cortavious Miller racked up a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and Tarquise Harris finished with 14 points, but the Tigers were not able to overcome an early Wolves lead in the loss.

The two teams went back and forth early before Co-Lin exploded for exploded for an 11-0 run at the 12-minute mark to turn a 4-point lead into a 15-point advantage. The home team would take a 41-26 lead to the locker rooms. 

Sophomore forward Cortavious Miller scored the 1st 7 points of the game for CCC on his way to a season-high 19. The Fayette County, TN native scored in double figures in each of the Tigers' last 3 games going back  to December. It was his 1st double-double of the season.

Freshman guard Tarquise Harris accumulated a personal season-high 14 points and was particularly good from the line, going 4 of 5 from the stripe. LeDarius Woods racked up 9 points and 7 rebounds in 22 minutes of game action. 

The Wolves outshot the Tigers 48% to 38% from the field, but CCC won the battle of the glass, outrebounding the home tam 51-32.

CCC (2-10, 0-1 MACJC North) will go for its 1st divisional win Thursday at home vs. East Mississippi. Tip against the Lions is scheduled for 8 pm. A live stream will be available on coahomasports.com/watch.

CCC Basketball will celebrate its homecoming Saturday, January 21st with a full schedule of festivities and fun. The teams will take on Southern University - Shreveport at 1 pm and 3 pm, and the day will also feature the induction of the Coahoma Community College Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
