SELMA, Alabama - CCC Baseball dropped a pair to Wallace-Selma Saturday in Selma, falling by scores of 6-1 and 7-4. Tanner White racked up 4 hits, including a triple, 2 RBI and a run scored in the twinbill.
Wallace, who improved to 10-5 by notching impressive back-to-back home wins, rode a strong start in Game 1 by Tanner Thomason, who threw all 7 innings while surrendering just 4 hits. He did not allow a man to reach 2nd base until the 6th inning.
CCC got its lone RBI from Hayden Tapper, who knocked in second baseman Lowell Haney with a gap shot double in the 6th. Wallace capitalized 5 times in the first 3 innings against Jacob Feduccia and Garrett Short to take an early advantage they would not relinquish.
The home side would once again get out to an early lead in Game 2, scoring 5 times off Leonardo Castro and 2 times off Preston Upshaw in the 2nd inning to make it a 7-0 lead. CCC would get an RBI double from Bailey Lott in the 4th and a 2-RBI triple by Tanner White and an RBI groundout from Trenton Johns in the 6th to make it 7-4 but could not complete the comeback against Wallace hurler Chad Silvani, who, like Thomason, fired a complete game.
Joseph Calvert finished 3 for 3 with 2 RBI for the home squad in Game 2.
