CLARKSDALE - The CCC Tigers dropped their December 1st contest vs. Jones 97-69 in The Pinnacle Thursday. Shannon Bailey poured in 14 points while Malik Bailey added a personal-season high with 13 in the effort.
Jones County leapt out to a 41-28 lead at the first turn behind strong play from guard Rickey Holden, who would finish the contest with 17 points and 5 steals. David Davis was the game-high scorer with 20, and Bobcat big man Bruce Stevens finished with 19.
For Shannon Bailey, the contest was the 4th in the last 5 games in which he scored in double digits and the 5th time overall this year. The sophomore finished 5 of 9 from the field and 4 of 7 beyond the arc.
For Malik Bailey, the contest was the 2nd in the last 4 in which he has scored in double figures. The freshman was efficient from the field as well, going 5 of 9 overall and 3 of 5 from deep. DJ Woods led the team in rebounding with 9.Â
With the win, the Bobcats improved to 6-0 on the season. The loss dropped CCC to 1-7.Â
The Tigers return to action on Monday, December 5th, opening their MACJC North schedule vs. Northeast in The Pinnacle. Tip-off is slated for 8 pm.
