DECATUR - The CCC Tigers dropped their Monday night contest to the East Central Warriors 74-66 despite 17 points by Shannon Bailey and 15 from LeDarius Woods. The team will return to action at home December 1st vs. Jones County.
The Tigers came out hot to start, using 12 1st half points from Woods to establish a 44-32 lead at half. The advantage would swell to as large as 16 behind hot shooting from Bailey, who helped the squad take a 55-39 lead just over 4 minutes into the 2nd period. Bailey would finish with a team-high 17 points on 7 of 14 shooting from the field.Â
East Central came roaring back though, outscoring CCC 19-5 over the game's final 9 minutes to steal the victory on their home floor. The Warriors were led by Tonzell Handy, who netted 19 points. CJ Ruffin and Cameron Diggs added 12 each.Â
The game was the 7th straight to start the season scoring in double figures for Woods, who also added 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 1 block. Tiger point guard Frank Anthony finished with 9 points and 9 assists.Â
The Tigers (2-6) return to MACJC play December 1st at home vs. Jones County. Opening tip is slated for 8 pm against the Bobcats.Â
