CLARKSDALE - The CCC Lady Tigers notched their 3rd win of the year and their 1st in MACJC North play by downing MS Delta in a64-63 thriller in The Pinnacle Monday. Eugenia Gilliam extended her double-double streak to 7 consecutive contests by scoring 27 points and pulling down 15 boards, 9 of them on the offensive glass.

CCC started the game well, consistently getting to the line and sinking 9 of 13 free throws to get out to a 32-23 lead at the intermission. Delta would battle back in the second though, winning the game's second 20 minutes 40-32. But it was another former Delta Lady Trojan Destiny Monix who would make sure that they would not complete the comeback, sinking a clutch 3 from the wing in the game's final minute to briefly extend the Lady Tiger lead to 5. The squad would stave off one final Lady Trojan push to notch the win.

Monix dropped 13 points and passed out 4 dimes in the victory. Melvinisha Jenkins was able to add 5 rebounds and a season-high 4 blocks to contribute in the effort. Delta was led by Racquel Harper, who scored 11 points on 5 of 15 shooting from the field. The loss dropped the Lady Trojans to 1-14 overall this year. They remain winless in MACJC North play.

CCC (3-14, 1-5 MACJC North) will travel to Fulton Thursday to battle Itawamaba. Tip in the ladies' game is slated for 6 pm.
