FULTON - The CCC Lady Tigers dropped their matchup vs. the Itawamba Lady Indians Thursday evening in Fulton, falling by a final of 88-62. Eugenia Gilliam extended her double-double streak to 8 straight games by pouring in 19 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.
The Lady Indians, who previously defeated the Lady Tigers in The Pinnacle on December 3rd, were able to notch their 14th win overall and their 6th in MACJC North play by shooting 46% from the field and 37% from the arc as a squad. They were led by Marlee Hatcher 20 points (4 of 8 3-PT FG) and Jabria Pounds, who racked up 16 points and passed out 5 assists. 4 Lady Indians finished with 10+ points.
Gilliam, a leading scorer and rebounder in the MACJC, was once again the star of the CCC offense. The Coahoma County product finished with 19 points, 11 boards, and 1 block. She has recorded a double-double in every Lady Tiger game since December 7. Melvinisha Jenkins recorded 10 points, as did Carnita Hammond, who added 11 rebounds on her way to her second double-double of 2015-16.
CCC returns to The Pinnacle on Monday vs. Holmes. Tip in the ladies' game is slated for 6 pm.
