CLARKSDALE - The CCC Tiger Basketball squad did their best to hold off a relentless Northwest attack in The Pinnacle Tuesday night, hanging around late before ultimately going down 107-97. Da'Quan Forrest of Kosciusko matched his season-high with 24 points.
The Rangers came into town looking for their 11th win of the season. Dre'Kalo Clayton was key for them early, knocking down 3 3's on his way to 13 first half points. Seth LeDay and Mark Partee would add 11 each in the first stanza, but CCC hung tough, keeping the score at 58-49 on the strength of Forrest and LaTerrence Henderson, who combined for 23.Â
Northwest kept CCC at arm's length in the 2nd with the help of LeDay, who exploded for 21 points in his second 20 minutes. He would finish with 32 points and 14 rebounds. For CCC, Forrest equaled his season-high of 24 (set earlier in the year at Hinds) by connecting on 7 3's. He also dished out 4 assists. Shannon Bailey, who ran the point for most of the game for CCC, netted 16 and passed out 7 dimes. Cortavious Miller would pour in 16 points of his own. Six Tigers finished in double figures.
CCC (3-12, 0-4 MACJC North) head to Northeast on Thursday. Tip in Booneville is slated for 7:30 pm.
