SCOOBA, MS — Coahoma Community College is looking forward to the brighter days of Homecoming week after suffering an exhausting loss on the road to defending NJCAA National Champion East Mississippi, 69-0.
It was obvious the Lions were looking for a little redemption after dropping their previous week's game on the road in Wesson, MS to Copiah-Lincoln. During that loss in Week 2, East Mississippi saw its 25-game win streak snapped and the chance of boasting the NJCAA's longest win streak (26 games) fall by the wayside in the overtime loss.
Needless to say, the Lions (2-1, 1-0) were foaming at the mouth to take the field Thursday night with their defense pitching the shutout and quarterback Wyatt Roberts throwing for 330 yards and five touchdowns.
Coahoma (0-3, 0-1) was unable to get much going on offense managing just 75 yards of total offense.
The Tigers now turn their attention to Homecoming opponent own "down the road" rival Mississippi Delta (0-3, 0-1). The Trojans are coming off a pretty decisive loss of their own against Copiah-Lincoln 58-14 Thursday night and will be coming into James E. miller Stadium in Clarksdale next Saturday hungry as both teams will be vying for their first wins of the season.
Students and alumni will be reminded why the Tiger Nation will always be their first home away from home during Coahoma Community College's 2015 Homecoming celebration.
Themed "The Life, the Legacy, the Legend", this year's week-long list of activities will kick off Sunday, Sept. 13 with the Annual Gospel Fest and will culminate Saturday, Sept. 19, with the classic Homecoming parade, the highly anticipated game against "down-the-road" rival Mississippi Delta and an exciting fire works show for an explosive ending.
Meanwhile, CCC alumni will be extended even more opportunities to "Xperience" the Land of Maroon and White and show support to their beloved alma mater with special activities, hosted by CCC's National Alumni Association. Themed "The Xperience: Homecoming 2015", exclusive alumni activities will include an Alumni Day Party that'll include a tour of the campus led by CCC President Valmadge Towner, the bi-annual National Alumni Association meeting and an evening of smooth tunes during "A Jazz Xperience".

11:30—Tiger Pit
In the festive spirit of CCC's Homecoming tradition, Tiger Taste will showcase a variety of food and drink and provide students (w/valid I.D.) an opportunity to sample all of the treats on display. New this year, in efforts to bring awareness to health issues that plague the Mississippi Delta, the event will also feature a "Tiger Health Habits" component that will feature information booths with representatives that will be available to discuss and distribute health-related materials.
Tiger Pride "Walk of Champions"/ Super Homecoming Pep Rally
1 p.m.—Tiger Pit to the Pinnacle
As a way to give support and show school spirit to Coahoma Community College and Coahoma Agricultural High School football teams, the "Walk of Champions" will encompass a specific route so that Tiger fans can create a massive "fan wall" to swarm players on both sides of the sidewalk and to greet the players with loud cheers, hugs, "high fives" or a simple a pat-on-the-back as they're ushered into the Pinnacle for the Super Homecoming Pep Rally.

Presidential Gala

"The Gala" provides an evening of upscale fine dining, live music, dancing and an awards ceremony for the friends and supporters of Coahoma Community College and for a good cause! This CCC Foundation event helps to support students by raising funds to supplement financial needs of students at Coahoma Community College. The public is invited to attend for a donation of $100 per person or $1000 per table of ten.

This "Ultimate Tailgating Experience" has become one of the largest, most talked about tailgating events in the Delta! Thousands are expected to journey to CCC's campus to take part in the Tiger reunion with food, fun and a blues and oldies music festival. This year's highlights include a mega fireworks show culminating the evening's festivities.

Homecoming Game
3 p.m.—James E. Miller Stadium
This highly anticipated game against the Mississippi Delta Community College Trojans will kickoff at 2:50 p.m. at the James E. Miller Stadium. Gates will open one hour prior to kickoff. With a new coaching staff, young talented team, renovated stadium interior, jumbotron and turf, this game is sure to be an epic one!
Blues & Oldies Music Festival
5:30 p.m.—Tiger Pride Park
Tigers, old and can join together at the stage just west of James E. Miller Stadium to revisit, revive and create friendships while singing and dancing to the sounds of authentic Clarksdale blues music and the sound of old soul 70's. The CCC Blues and Oldies Music Festival will take place immediately after the Homecoming football game.
Firework Show
8:30 p.m.—James E. Miller Stadium
Witness CCC light up the sky with a second to none Fireworks show. The dazzling lights display will feature more than 1,000 fireworks shells soaring in the air and sending the sounds of celebration miles away. It's sure to be the perfect way to end "The Life, The Legacy, The Legend" Homecoming 2015!
