SHREVEPORT - The SUSLA Jags defeated the CCC Tigers 91-49 Friday night at the Southern Classic. The relentless Southern University attack was led by Derrion Porchia and D'Angelo McClinton, who combined for 48 points to help the Jags get their third win of the year.
CCC struggled from the outset, making just 7 field goals in the opening half as SUSLA built a 50-20 halftime lead. The Tigers would be led by Jonathan Ankston and Da'Quan Forrest, who each finished with 7.Â
The Jags extended their early advantage in the final twenty minutes and cruised to their 2nd straight win over CCC at the Southern Classic. As a team, they shot 52.5% from the field and nailed 10 3's to wrap up the victory.
The good news for the Tigers is that they will have a chance to rebound quickly. The team plays Bossier Parish tomorrow at 2 pm.
