CLARKSDALE—The Lady Tigers fell to the Itawamba Lady Indians Thursday evening by a final of 82-57. Amber Sisk played all 40 minutes for CCC and poured in 15 points, but ICC forced 28 Lady Tiger turnovers to earn their 16th win of the year and stay undefeated in MACJC North play.
The Lady Tigers hung tough with the Lady Indians for most of the first half. Sisk's 3-pointer with 3:27 to go cut the Lady Indian lead to just 29-23. However, ICC reel off a 16-2 run to end the period and head to the locker rooms up a more comfortable 40-25.
ICC used a balanced attack and more pesky defense in the 2nd half to open up an even more sizeable advantage. The Lady Indians featured 6 players who scored at least 8 points. They were led by Kaelin Kneeland, who finished with 14. ICC racked up 33 points off Lady Tiger turnovers. It was the 5th time this year that CCC has turned the ball over at least 28 times in a contest.
Sisk, Erica Collins, and Josta Totten all finished in double digits for CCC. For Sisk, it was the 3rd time this year that she has scored 15 or more and the 12th time this year that she has played all 40 minutes in a game. Collins went 6 of 13 from the field and added 7 rebounds to go along with her 12 points. Totten followed up her 18-point, 10-assist explosion vs. MS Delta CC by pouring in 11 and dishing 9 dimes vs. the Lady Indians.
With the loss, the Lady Tigers now stand at 2-15. They return to action Monday, February 2nd at Holmes. Tipoff in Goodman is scheduled for 6 pm.Â
