Lady Rangers Trounce Lady Tigers In Senatobia

CCC suffers worst loss of year at Northwest

The Northwest Lady Rangers trounced the Lady Tigers in Senatobia last night, prevailing on their home floor by a final of 110-56.

The Lady Tigers took the game's first lead, but from there, it was all Northwest. The Lady Rangers were led by center Aspriona Gilbert, who poured in 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Overall, the Lady Rangers outscored the Lady Tigers in the paint 62-24. They also forced 36 CCC turnovers, capitalizing off the miscues for 39 points.

Josta Totten was the leading scorer for the Lady Tigers. The sophomore from Itta Benna racked up 13 points. Amber Sisk and Erica Collins each added 10. It was the fourth time that Sisk has scored in double figures this season. Collins was limited by early foul trouble, but still managed to score at least 10 points for the 5th time in the last 6 games.

Northwest had 8 players who scored at least 8 points. As a team, the Lady Rangers weren't astoundingly efficient from the field—they shot 41.6% for the game— but they used their 27 rebounds on the offensive glass to get plenty of second chance opportunities.

With the win, the Lady Rangers improved to 14-2 overall and 4-1 in MACJC North play.

The loss was the worst of the season for the Lady Tigers, who surrendered 100+ for the 3rd time this season. They will have another chance to earn their first MACJC North win Thursday when Northeast MS CC comes to Clarksdale. Ladies will tip off in The Pinnacle at 6 pm.
