Arkansas Baptist Buffaloes Stampede Tigers, Cruise To Win

CCC men suffer another loss

The CCC men fell once again Tuesday night, losing to Arkansas Baptist by a final of 88-63. The loss dropped the Tigers to 0-5 on the year.

Arkansas Baptist got a big game from Latron Thomas, who poured in 20 point on 6 of 7 shooting from the field and a 6 of 6 night from the line. He spearheaded an Arkansas Baptist squad that finished with four players in double figures while keeping the Tigers in check all night.

Michael West III and Demarcus Bracey both returned to the lineup for CCC from minor leg injuries they suffered last week. But despite being back at full strength, the Tigers still could not keep up with the Buffaloes early. Arkansas Baptist took full advantage of the game's opening minutes, outscoring CCC 28-9 in the first 9:03. That lead would prove to be insurmountable.

LaTerrence Henderson and LaDarius Jones provided the bulk of the Tiger offense. Henderson knocked down 4 3-pointers in the first half to keep CCC in the game. Jones went on a tear of his own in the second half, putting up 11 of his team-high 13 points in the period. On the season, Jones is now averaging 12.2 points per game. Da'Quan Forrest added 10 of his own in the effort.

Though it was a rout, the game was not without its exciting moments. Anthony Dorsey provided a highlight reel dunk in the final minutes that injected life into the home crowd. Video of his jam is available below.

Baptist had their way on the glass all night. Their 49 rebounds were more than twice CCC's total. The Buffaloes also shot the ball extremely well. The knocked down opportunities from the field at a 68% clip in each half to bury the Tigers. With the win, the Buffaloes, an independent NJCAA squad, move to 3-4 on the season.

CCC heads to East Central CC next week. They take on the Warriors in Decatur on November 17th. Game time is scheduled for 8 pm. A live-stream of the event will be available on coahomasports.com.
