Selina Reid is a native of Rienzi, MS. In 2010, she became the first assistant athletic director at Coahoma Community College.
She is a graduate of Biggersville High School where she lettered in basketball, softball, track and field. Reid received a four-year basketball scholarship at Blue Mountain College. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Physical Education.
Reid also earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Human Performance with a concentration in Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee at Martin along with a Masters of Education in Health, Physical Education and Recreation from Delta State University.
In August of 2007, she became the first full-time Head Athletic Trainer at Coahoma Community College. She volunteered her athletic training services to Coahoma Agricultural High School for ten years.
Before her current stint with CCC, she was employed by Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center Outpatient Physical Therapy Department and Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.
Professionally, she assisted with grant proposals for CCC Fit for Life Healthy Campus Initiative Project securing funds of $499,780; CCC Dating and Domestic Violence Prevention Program securing funds of $289,304. Also, she has been serving as an Online Adjunct Instructor for the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department for almost 20 years.
The Clarksdale Press Register highlighted Reid in the 2012 Women in Business Special Feature. She was also interviewed by the Training and Conditioning Magazine for hosting a sports medicine symposium in 2007.
In 2004, Reid worked part-time at the CCC Workforce Development Center as a First Aid and CPR Instructor and at CCC Fitness Center as an Aerobics Instructor for a two-year stint.
She is a member of the following Coahoma Community College Committees: Marketing and Branding Committee, Fit for Life Healthy Campus Initiative Committee, the Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee, Information Technology Advisory Council, Institutional Response Team, Coordinated Community Response Team for Dating and Domestic Violence Prevention Program, and Various Personnel Search Committees.
Reid served on the Delta State University Healthy Campus and Community Initiative Advisory Board and currently serves on the Carl Keen Career and Technical Education Advisory Board.
She is married to Charles F. Reid, Jr, who is a native of Clarksdale, MS. They have two children, a daughter Nyla and a son Nyles.
