CCC - COACH ISAIAH BUTLER

Isaiah Butler

Isaiah Butler will be entering his fourth season as the assistant coach of the women's basketball team at Coahoma Community College. Butler greatly assisted head coach Stephanie Murphy by ensuring the team had a successful year. Butler is in charge of the strength and conditioning workouts for the team. His unique workouts assisted with the girls' overall performance, resulting in the team being runners-up at the MACJC Region 23 Tournament finals, Co State Champions, and North division champions.

Formerly a graduate assistant for the Mississippi College Lady Choctaws, he comes to CCC with a high expectation of shifting the atmosphere alongside head coach Stephanie Murphy and instilling a spirit of excellence and dedication, which he is confident will lead to the program’s success.

From 2013 until 2015, Butler played as a forward at Mississippi State University. He joined the men’s basketball team as a walk-on and earned a full scholarship to complete his senior year. Upon receiving his scholarship, Butler was awarded the 2014-2015 Scholar Athlete of the Year Award and was named the SEC Community Service Team Member. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Mississippi State University with the following concentration areas: kinesiology, history, and psychology.

Born in Fort Polk, Louisiana to Brian and Corinna Butler, Isaiah realized his passion for basketball while living in Brandon, Mississippi, the city where he was raised.
