Jaquay Walls played college basketball at Compton College and at the University of Colorado. During his two seasons with Colorado, Walls recorded impressive statistics and was named first-team all-conference in his senior season.
The New York native was drafted in the second round of the 2000 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers. Walls' playing career ended after three years of professional basketball in France and Turkey.
Walls has approximately 15 combined years of coaching experience on the high school, AAU, and collegiate levels. He returns to the state of Mississippi where he spent multiple years as a coach at Mississippi Valley State University.
On Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, CCC announced Walls' arrival to the Coahoma men's basketball coaching staff. Head Coach Dell Cannon was pleased with the hire. "Just bringing him along, that's more wins added to the table, that's more discipline added to the team," Cannon said. "He's a diamond. Remember I told you that; he's a diamond."
