Wesson, MS- The Coahoma Community College Tigers took on the Co-Lin Wolves in Wesson, MS. The Tigers, fresh from a win against Southwest Community College, were geared up for another challenging game.
The match began with a three-pointer from Arthur Tate, signaling an early effort from the Tigers. However, the Co-Lin Wolves managed to keep control throughout the first half, heading into halftime with a 28-21 lead in what turned out to be a relatively low-scoring game. Arthur Tate stood out in the initial half, leading all scorers with 12 points, including three successful three-pointers.
The second half echoed the first, with the Tigers unable to turn the tide. Co-Lin maintained their lead, ultimately winning the game with a score of 70-54. Arthur Tate was a scoring force, wrapping up the game with 15 points.
Jaqai Murray stepped up in the second half, contributing 12 points to finish with a total of 14 and an impressive eight rebounds. Jonathan Noudjihidi also played a crucial role, adding 13 points for the Tigers.
Despite their efforts, the Tigers shot 38 percent from the field and 23 percent from beyond the arc for the entire game, falling short against the determined Co-Lin Wolves.
Looking forward, the Tigers are set to return home on February 26th to face East Mississippi at 7:30 PM. The game will be a Maroon Out, and the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free T-shirt. The halftime ceremony will honor alums, and Coahoma Athletics, in partnership with Diaper Bank of the Delta, is organizing a diaper drive. Fans who donate diapers will receive free admission and those who donate wipes will receive two dollars off admission.
