Lady Tigers Cruise to an Impressive Victory Over Arkansas State Mid-South

The Coahoma Tigers women's basketball team extended their unbeaten streak (8-0) with a dominant performance against Arkansas State Mid-South on Monday night in West Memphis. From the opening tip to the final buzzer, the Tigers were in complete control, securing a commanding 72-28 victory.  

Coahoma's balanced attack was on full display. Hope Thomas emerged as the standout scorer, dropping an efficient 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, including two crucial three-pointers. Her confidence beyond the arc and smart decision-making set the tone early.  

The first quarter saw the Tigers surge to a 21-8 lead, powered by precision passing and tenacious rebounding. 

Cy'Nara Robinson was a force in the paint, grabbing six boards and adding eight points.

Jamaica Young anchored the team defensively, pulling down nine rebounds and contributing eight points of her own.  

The second half was highlighted by Coahoma's bench players stepping up to extend the lead. Shari'a Davis and Tya Johnson provided energy off the bench, combining for six points and adding crucial defensive stops.  

The Tigers' ball movement was exemplary, amassing 22 assists as a team. Kamil Washum orchestrated the offense with poise, dishing out three assists while adding 11 points, including two three-pointers that electrified the crowd.  

Coahoma's defense was relentless, forcing 24 turnovers and turning them into transition opportunities. Ceriah Evans was a defensive dynamo, racking up six steals and grabbing eight rebounds while adding five points in a gritty all-around performance.  

The Tigers dominated on the boards, out-rebounding Arkansas State Mid-South 43-26. Their aggressive play on the glass translated into 14 offensive rebounds, creating second-chance opportunities that wore down the opposition.  

The Tigers are back in action this week, gearing up to take on Meridian Community College on December 5, 2024, with tip-off set for 5:30 p.m.
