Coahoma Tigers Fall Just Short in Electrifying Battle Against NEMCC 77-73

In a game that had fans on the edge of their seats at The Pinnacle, the Coahoma Tigers gave an inspired performance against Northeast Mississippi Community College, ultimately falling 77-73 in a thrilling contest on Monday night.

The Tigers (8-2) showed tremendous grit and determination, particularly in the second half, where they staged a spirited comeback, outscoring the visitors 44-39.

Jonathan Noudjihidi's commanding presence in the paint led Coahoma, as he tallied 16 points, including 10-for-14 from the free-throw line.

RiCarvis Waters brought energy and consistency, contributing 17 points and providing a crucial spark in both halves.

The first half saw the Tigers battling to keep pace as they worked to overcome a rebounding deficit. Despite shooting 38.5% from the field, Coahoma relied on timely plays from Jeremiah Davis and Waters, whose three-pointers and defensive hustle kept the game within reach at halftime.

In the second half, the Tigers came alive. Noudjihidi dominated under the basket, while Denquarryious Robison provided a much-needed boost off the bench with nine points. Jerasmus Eagins showcased his playmaking abilities, leading the team with six assists and making key contributions on both ends of the floor.

The closing moments highlighted Coahoma's resilience. Down by double digits midway through the second half, the Tigers fought back with a barrage of smart plays. Noudjihidi's physicality in the paint and a late three-pointer from Davis brought the Tigers to within striking distance. The crowd roared as Coahoma pulled to within three points in the final minute.

The Tigers are back in action this week, gearing up to take on Meridian Community College on December 5, 2024, with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
