Coahoma Community College's basketball team thrilled their fans on November 7, 2024, holding off Volunteer State Community College's late-game push to secure a 77-72 win at The Pinnacle.

The first half belonged to Volunteer State, who capitalized on Coahoma's early shooting struggles. At halftime, Coahoma was down by seven points, trailing 35-28. 

But the Tigers regrouped and came out with renewed energy in the second half. Seck Zongo led the charge with a powerful 22-point, 10-rebound performance. His composure at the free-throw line proved vital, going 8-for-10 to help secure the win. 

Inside, Louzavious Thomas and Jonathan Noudjihidi combined for 21 rebounds, adding strength to Coahoma's defense and keeping Volunteer State's scorers in check. 

Key contributions from the bench added a spark. Jeremiah Davis went 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, finishing with 11 points and hitting crucial shots late in the game. 

Denquarryious Robison added nine points and two steals, boosting Coahoma's defense. In the final moments, Coahoma held their ground. 

Volunteer State threatened with a late comeback, but the Tigers' clutch free-throw shooting sealed the victory. 

Coahoma's resolve turned a first-half deficit into a thrilling win, setting an exciting tone for the season.
