Box Score CCC defeated Hinds in the Lady Tigers' first conference away game of the 2022-23 season.
The Maroon and White were dominant in the opening quarter as CCC outscored HCC 22-3. Coahoma scored 18 points in the second quarter, and led 40-17 at halftime. The Lady Tigers allowed just two points in the third quarter on their way to a 71-40 road win.
Janiya Jones and Jamea Smith each scored 14 points, which led the team in scoring. Jones tallied four 3-pointers and four steals. Smith registered a double-double with 10 rebounds, which included five offensive rebounds.
Jamyia Bowen also scored in double-figures for Coahoma as the forward tallied 13 points. Sequoia Bouldin had a productive game with nine points and two steals.
Along with Smith; Elishia Wilson also tallied double-digit rebounds for Coahoma as Wilson tallied 10.
Tiana Abron, Mackenzie Carter, Marshayla Purnell, and Tiara Abron also scored for CCC.
The Lady Tigers are now 6-3 (2-0 MACCC) this season; HCC is 2-10 (1-2 MACCC).
Coahoma's next game is scheduled to be against Itawamba on Tuesday, Jan. 17. That matchup is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
